BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, FEBRUARY 26TH 2008 (CUOPM) – The St. Kitts and Nevis Cabinet has granted concessions on equipment and other capital projects to local businesses.

The approval is in keeping with the policy of the governing St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Administration of Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas to empower local businesses to make them more robust in an increasingly hostile global economy.

The policy is also aimed at providing sustainable employment opportunities and grow the economy by approving duty concessions for a number of enterprises.

The concessions given are in line with the Fiscal Incentives Act, initiated in the 1970’s.
