PM Douglas meets with nationals in New York on Sunday evening (171/2006)



BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JUNE 3RD 2006 (CUOPM) – Nationals of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis living in New York and the neighboring American States get an opportunity on Sunday to hear first hand about developments in the twin-island Federation.

Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas will use the opportunity of his presence in New York to attend a United Nations High-Level Meeting and Comprehensive Review Special Session on HIV/AIDS, to interact with his nationals.

The public meeting will take place on Sunday 4th June in the Auditorium at the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church at 777 Barnes Avenue, at the corner of 222nd Street in the Bronx and begins at 6:00 P.M.

Dr. Douglas is expected to inform nationals during the meeting about the economic, political and social strides made over the last months and will highlight several plans in the areas of hotel development in particular and tourism in general, agriculture, education, healthcare, infrastructural development, national security, social development, the economic challenges and regional and international issues.
